Hi, I’m Jessica!

Find out more about me and Ebenezer Wellness here!

A little about my professional background...

Since I was young, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. But after spending 5 years as a nurse, then 8 as a nurse practitioner, I felt … unsettled. I believed we could do more to help people truly feel well, but it was hard to find out what that looked like within the current healthcare model. I started to hear bits and pieces about functional medicine. The more I learned, the more sense it made, and it has filled in many of the missing pieces I was looking for. I completed my certification in functional medicine and brainstormed ways to take my newfound knowledge to others—which led to the formation of Ebenezer Wellness LLC. I believe that although we often separate faith and healthcare in our minds, letting our faith fuel healthy living can be life-changing. Now I want to take the information I've learned and help others learn to walk in freedom, experiencing the abundant life God has for them.

A little about my personal background...

One thing I love about the Foundational Stones program is that it was created in the thick of "life." No ivory towers here! I am surrounded by kids and toys and budget papers and schoolbooks and of course that never-ending pile of laundry...and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I know it sounds cliche, but I really am married to my best friend. He is amazing and has been endlessly patient and supportive in this new business adventure. We have 3 beautiful children that bring so much joy and so much chaos to our life. I am so thankful to be their mom!

I love being outside, especially by the water. I also love reading—a book by the water is my happy place! I came to know Jesus and trust Him with my life at a young age, and He has been my constant source of strength and stability since. His love never ceases to amaze me.  I will be the first to admit that I still have a long way to go when it comes to the area of health and wellness. But I have seen first-hand the difference some of these changes can make and I'm looking forward to continuing to take one step at a time.

A little about functional medicine...

Functional medicine is becoming more mainstream, but many are still unfamiliar with it. Simply put, functional medicine seeks to find and address the root cause of illness while also optimizing wellness. I would say it’s not a replacement for all conventional medicine, but a much-needed supplement to it. If it’s new to you, check out the "Functional Medicine FAQ" video on the Ebenezer Wellness YouTube channel for more information.

A little about Ebenezer Wellness LLC...

Mission Statement:
Ebenezer Wellness LLC exists to provide individuals with Christ-centered, practical tools and information to help empower them to be faithful stewards of their health.

Core Values:
Humility-We are all on this journey together and humbly recognize we can do nothing on our own. We lay both our successes and failures at Jesus’ feet.

Discernment-The world is a messy mix of good and bad, truth and lies. As we weigh out risks and benefits in life, we pray for Holy Spirit-led discernment to take in the good and reject the bad.

Stewardship-We own nothing, but all that we have is graciously on loan from our Good Father. We seek to be good managers of all that is entrusted to us-including our physical bodies.

Grace-We recognize we live in a fallen world where human perfection is an impossibility. We cling to the grace of God, which is made perfect in weakness, to fill in our gaps. We seek to extend this grace to others—to give freely as we have received freely. We do the best we can with the information and resources we have, and we trust God for the rest.

But why such a strange name? Check out the "About Us" video on the Ebenezer Wellness Youtube channel for more background information and to learn why I picked the name "Ebenezer." 😊
